This WorkBook requires Mathwright Library Player 2000 to read it. To download the book, press the button on the left. A self-extracting file will be downloaded. Either save it to disk and execute it later, or simply select "Open it" from the popup dialog. This places the book, along with its documentation, on the Start, Programs, Mathwright Library menu, so that you may read it whenever you like.

Title: Analyzing Data

Book Description: One purpose of this laboratory is to continue to practice modeling apparent relationships between two sets of data, making use this time, of an automatic procedure to obtain the line. Another purpose is to begin to get experience collecting, entering, and analyzing data. For that, the lab has two "activity pages" that will be described shortly. First, you will use the "Automatic Fit" button: to obtain the best linear fit to some data in the POLLUTION scatter plot that is described below. Next, you do the same for the SALES scatter plot. Then you come to the heart of the lab where you perform some experiments with inclined planes and pendula. You will generate from those experiments data like that from Lab 4, and then analyze that data to determine two of the formulas like the ones derived in Lab 4, and perhaps some new formulas as well.

Contained in Calculus Course.

Suggested Use: Instructions are under the (?) button. The first page of this lab is a Report page and contains the lab assignment with space for students to fill in answers. This has been saved as Notes for that page. To open the report, return to the first page by pressing the Black Rectangle, then select Customize, Notes for this page. To close the notes before leaving the first page, select: Customize, Close Notes.
